Smash Bros. Sunday: Week 15 (September 23rd-27th)

Fact of the Week: All these images come from MarioPartyLegacy.

This image is showcasing Samus’s Charge Shot, which apparently has boosted speed and power. However, Sakurai warns us that this could be dangerous for her. This picture shows this danger, as Fox’s Reflector shoots the Charge Shot right back at our armored lady. However, since the speed of the shot has been increased, I would assume it would be harder to nail this technique. It was shown September 23rd.
Mademoiselle Peach and Mister Mario seem to be sharing a ring here in the Garden of Hope. There isn’t much to not with this image. However, what IS that ring? Is it just leaves blowing through the air, and the picture was taken at just the right moment? Or maybe Peach now gets a ring on her dainty little digits. I can’t say for certain. It was shown September 24th.
I personally like this image. It shows us, using the 3DS version, that Luigi now does a little flutter kick when he jumps and now, he jumps much higher! I like that Sakurai and his team are paying attention to the littlest details when it comes to these characters. Maybe when Kirby has inhale up to the air, a little puff of it comes out of his mouth reminiscent to the old Kirby games. I’d love to see little nods to each of the characters franchises. It was shown September 25th.
To celebrate Wind Waker HD launching in Japan, Toon Link was announced! Our cat-eyed hero is shown in the Skyloft stage more than likely doing his Wind Waker-holding taunt. Since it seems THIS Toon Link is going to be purely based on Wind Waker… what mysteries will he hide? Will his moveset be changed? It was shown September 26th.
The last image we got this week tells us that Toon Link’s bombs can be picked up! This is similar to how Mega Man’s Metal Blade can be picked up and wielded by others. So, since his Bomb attack is coming back, and we know the Wind Waker returns as a taunt, we can assume one of two things. The first one being he has the exact same moveset as he did before (highly unlikely, considering he was a clone of Link) or… the more plausible option, his normal attacks like the Sword are returning, but his specials are different. Think about it, Wind Waker has a LOT of items to be wielded by our tiny hero in green. Hey, perhaps his Skull Hammer can come into play, or maybe he can grab you with his Power Bracelet. It was shown September 27th.
